GILBERT BAKER FOUNDATION: INVISIBLE FLAGS

LETTING PRIDE FLY

The Gilbert Baker Foundation, named after the designer of the Pride Flag, exists to protect free speech and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. Recently, over 50 cities across the U.S. created legislation banning Pride Flags from public spaces. So, we created an Augmented Reality Pride Flag to get around the bans. This sparked a digital protest using the AR Flags on tiktok and Instagram. Invisible flags helped result in the reversal of the bans in California, Florida New Jersey and Maryland.

CLOSE TO HOME

We first heard the issue as a pride flag ban was placed near our agency home in Huntington Beach, so we used creativity to fight back and eventually bring on our new partner and client: The Gilbert Baker Foundation.
